David Louis Ghilchik (1892-1972)
Ghilchik was born in Romania and studied at the Manchester School of Art and at the Slade. His cartoons were published in Punch for nineteen years from 1920. In addition to his published work, Ghilchik was President of the London Sketch Club and exhibited at the Royal Academy, the New English Art Club and with the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour.
