William Radclyffe (1783-1855)
Radclyffe was an engraver born in Birmingham, where he worked as an engraver. Additionally, he was a great supporter of the arts in his home city; he helped to found the Birmingham School of Art in 1814 and later helped to establish the Birmingham Society of Arts.
His engravings were included in Graphic Illustrations of Warwickshire, 1829 and Thomas Roscoe’s Wanderings in North and South Wales, 1844, amongst others.
His sons Edward and William were also artists; Edward followed his father in engraving and William was a portrait painter.
