William Collard (1792-1847)
Collard was a printmaker and artist from Gateshead; he lived and worked in the north east all his life. He is best known for the prints he produced for numerous publications including John Hodgson’s The Picture of Newcastle upon Tyne (1812) and his History of Northumberland (published from 1820).
In addition to his printed work, Collard occasionally exhibited his drawings at venues in Newcastle.
