Samuel Buck (1696-1779)
Nathaniel Buck (fl. 1724-1759)
The Buck brothers are well-known for their engraved views of castles, churches and other architectural features. Their engravings often include etched elements to the backgrounds.
Initially, Samuel engraved prints from his own designs before his brother joined him. Their working practice consisted of touring and drawing views in the summer months, subsequently engraving from these designs through the winter. The brothers’ collaboration resulted in almost 500 engraved scenes.
