Lyman Byxbe (1886-1980)
Byxbe was born at Pittsfield, Illinois. Self-taught, he originally worked as a commercial artist. He spent his summers in the Rocky Mountains, drawing and etching the landscape and wildlife of that unique environment.
In the late 1930s, Byxbe moved permanently to Estes Park in the Rockies. Here, he had his studio and a gallery, where he sold his etched scenes.
