James Lovegrove ARCA RE (1922-1997)
Lovegrove was born in Hong Kong and, following active service in the Second World War, later studied at Woolwich Polytechnic and the Royal College of Art. He lived a colourful life. In addition to maintaining an artistic career, he was employed at various times as a bank manager, a local historian and as a member of marine expeditions. Later, he was the Director of the Mary Rose Trust.
