Alfred J Bennett (1861-c.1929)
Alfred Bennett was born in London, the city that was later to provide the subject matter for many of his etchings and paintings. Bennett exhibited consistently during the first decades of the 20th century, at the Royal Academy, the New English Art Club and, particularly, Walker’s Gallery, London.
Some biographies of the artist give his death as being around 1923; Bernard Dolman records that he was living in Horsham in 1929.
