Alexander Stuart Boyd (1854-1930)
A S Boyd was born at Glasgow and trained in art at Heatherley’s School, London. His first cartoons were published in Glasgow’s Quiz in the early 1880s and he began submitting to Punch in 1894. He later emigrated to New Zealand where he was elected President of the Auckland Society of Artists.
